1. Storage

Tungsten and molybdenum products are easy to be oxidized and discolored, and must be kept in an environment with humidity below 60%, temperature below 28℃, and isolation from other chemical products.

2. Pollution embrittlement

(1) At high temperature (close to the melting point of metal), will react with other metals (iron and its alloy, nickel and its alloy, etc.), sometimes the material produces embrittlement, in the heat treatment of tungsten and molybdenum products, must pay attention to!

Heat treatment should be carried out in vacuum (below 10-3Pa), reduction (H2) or inert gas (N2, Ar, etc.) atmosphere.

(2) Tungsten and molybdenum products will react with carbon embrittlement, so do not contact when heat treatment at temperatures above 800℃. But the embrittlement degree of molybdenum products is very small under 1500℃ due to carbonization.

3. Mechanical processing

(1) The bending, punching, shearing and cutting of tungsten and molybdenum plate products are easy to produce cracks when processed at room temperature, and must be heated for processing. At the same time, due to improper processing, sometimes stratification, so it is recommended to use heating processing.

(2) However, molybdenum plate will be embrittlement when heated above 1000℃, resulting in processing difficulties, which should be paid attention to.

(3) When mechanical grinding tungsten and molybdenum products, the grinding method suitable for various occasions must be selected.

4. Oxide removal method

(1) Tungsten and molybdenum products have the characteristics of easy oxidation. To remove heavy oxides, please entrust our company or use strong acid (fluoric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, etc.) treatment, please pay attention to the operation.

(2) Mild oxides should be cleaned with abrasive agent, wiped with a soft cloth or sponge, and then washed with warm water.

(3) Please note that clean products will lose their metallic luster.

5. Precautions for use

(1) Tungsten and molybdenum sheet is as sharp as a cutter, and the burr on the corner and end face is dangerous to cut hands. Please wear protective equipment when using the product.

(2) The density of tungsten is about 2.5 times that of iron, and the density of molybdenum is about 1.3 times that of iron. The actual weight is much heavier than the apparent weight. Therefore, human injury may be caused by manual handling. Manual operation is recommended when the weight is less than 20KG.

6. Handling precautions
