Grade 7 Titanium Plate/sheet (Ti-0.2pd) is a d-type titanium alloy plate made of industrial pure titanium by adding a small amount of precious metal Pd. The addition of Pd not only significantly improves the corrosion resistance of the alloy in reducing medium, but also improves its corrosion resistance in oxidizing medium. Therefore, grade 7 titanium plate has the best resistance to crevice corrosion. The cost of Grade 7 titanium plate is relatively high due to the addition of Pd.

When the amount of Pd added to Grade 7 titanium reaches 0.1%-0.2%, the corrosion rate of titanium in sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid is significantly reduced, and when the Pd content is less than 0.05%, the corrosion rate increases instead. When the acid concentration is low, the titanium alloy containing 0.13% Pd has satisfactory corrosion resistance. But when the acid concentration is higher, Ti-0.2pd has better corrosion resistance, so Ti-0.2pd is more suitable.
Grade 7 Titanium Plate/sheet is mainly used in the environment of dilute hydrochloric acid, dilute sulfuric acid, and dilute phosphoric acid. It is also widely used in titanium equipment to prevent crevice corrosion. Grade 7 titanium is also suitable for environments where oxidizing and reducing conditions alternate.
