Tantalum has a melting point of 2996℃ and a density of 16.6 g/cm. Tantalum can be used in a wide range of applications in the manufacture of welded and seamless tubes. Seamless tubes are manufactured by extrusion, tube reduction, or deep drawing with sheet metal. The welding is made by forming a strip, then forming a tube, and then welding the joint with a gas tungsten arc (GTAW).
